Harvesting |

Post-harvesting and explanting operations - After the harvest, operations can involve renewing the crop for new production cycles as previously scheduled or restoring the land for use for new crops. If the crop needs to be renewed, it must be ensured that the new suckers are at an advantage compared to infestations and have sufficient nitrogen reserves. Therefore, before the beginning of the growth season, the presence or absence of infestations and the nutritional condition of the stumps must be verified, so as to determine whether herbicides or fertilizers are needed. If so, the provisions of points 3 and 8 of this document should be followed. If the land is destined to be assigned to new crops, at the end of the productive cycle the plot can be restored by a special forestry machine (Rotavator), used between the rows. One or two simple passes of the abovementioned operation ensures the breakdown of the stumps, destruction of the roots and therefore readiness for new crops. |
