Pelton Turbines' Modern Technology |
Starting from modern Steam and Gas turbines experince, Orengine design provides for a Pelton turbine bucket which is characterized by th ehigher efficiency hydrodynamic togheter with a simple structure combined with cost-effective design, featuring high strength and long reliable maintenance free service life. Our turbine buckets are designed for optimum hydrodynamics and mass distribution, and are made of high quality metal alloy precision castings to increase strength, resist extreme fatigue and avoid corrosion or abrasion. |
||||
Inaccurancies in bucket geometry and positioning may cause energy conversion effeciency loss and untimely bucket failure. Starting from this assumption Orengine opetd for ceramic casting, use of high precision instruments and laser to verify the shape of the hydrodynamic of bucket surface, the dimensions of milled planes flanges and alignment reference points. All this features consent to correctly align a single piece high quality stainless steel bucket to the rotor ring of a turbine wheel. Our Pelton turbine bucket root has essentially three precision machined adjoining surfaces for locating the piece with high accuracy and to ensure a reliable fixation to the central supporting wheel. |

Turbines blades roots, as in all high power composed runner and equivalently in Orengine design for Pelton buckets, are contoured to be positively fixed to the wheel. Contours may have a variety of forms and is well known that a perfect manifacture of edges formed between the surfaces, transition and border of the surfaces guarantee absense of cracks, vibrations and other failures, giving the composed wheel a better quality than a sigle casted piece or an unfavourable welded wheel. |
||||
Therefore, in accordance with our proven disign, the bucket root and the supporting ring are provided with special edges, bevelled and plane, mechanically simply and safely manifacturable. Contact surfaces are exactly dimensionable and adaptable to the mechanical loads occuring. This enables reproducible and equal geometrical conditions to be machined in all areas of the bucket root and the supporting ring. Controlled geometrical conditions guarantee safe loading over the entire contact surfaces during operation, reducing the hazard of failure becuase system will not incur any stress peaks. Advantages of the quality than a single cast one, more efficient, lower maintenance, reduced delivery time and has another very important characteristic: blades surfaces can be easily protected with high coating layers to combat silt abrasion. |

Years of positive experience with this technology, being our Pelton turbines in service around the globe, and the continuous effort to systematically improve the quality indicate that the Orengine design and production is today the best choice in turbines for efficiency, reliability and minimal maintenance. |
